Equation of circle with a centre (h,k) and a radius of r is

`(x-h)^2+(y-k)^2=r^2`

Thus equation of circle with a centre at (-2,-4) and a radius of 6 is

`(x-(-2))^2+(y-(-4))^2=(6)^2`

`x^2+4x+4+y^2+16+8y=36`

`x^2+y^2+4x+8y-16=0`
