What are the energy transofmation equations for:

Tree blown over by strong wind

Incandescent light bulb switched on

Paved driveway feels hot on a sunny day

A tree is blown over by strong wind. Here friction forces the wind to slow down; the energy used to slow down the wind is transformed into mechanical energy which blows the tree over. Thus, it is an example of frictional energy creating mechanical energy. When an incandescent light bulb is switched on it gives off light and the bulb is heated up due to heating effect of current. Here, the transformation is electrical energy into light and heat energy. Paved driveway feels hot on a sunny day. This is because of transformation of light energy into heat energy on the surface of the pavement.
