What does this phrase mean to you? "the blind can not see what the deaf can not hear".

I have not heard this one before, but I'll take a stab at it. Both the blind and deaf are missing out on a major form of communication. We use our senses to understand the world, and when one is missing we lose meaning. It's hard to say which sense is more crucial, but both the blind and deaf might feel deprived of some of the meaning of life.
