Best answer as selected by question asker.
Cronus overthrew his despotic father Uranus, former ruler of the sky. He ushered in a new era of cooperation between the gods and humans. He also gifted humanity with the birth of a new deity. Cronus eventually dethroned and castrated his father. He cast his father's testicles into the sea, and the goddess Aphrodite emerged from a white foam generated on the surface of the sea. According to the ancient mythological tradition, humans prospered during the reign of Cronus, as he was much more benevolent than his predecessor Uranus.
