This is an important question. In light of all the development in the world, often what gets neglected is the environment. The advancements in technology, the need for energy, the population explosion (over 7 billion people now), and a host of other things has caused society to look for more natural resources. This has caused damages to our environment, sometimes even permanently.

For this reason, conservationists have sought to protect the environment through laws, education of the public, and other methods. There has been some advancements. For example, now universities offer many courses on the environment, such as environmental engineering and environmental sciences.

This movement has also taken root among the average person as well. Things like recycling and saving water are all in part due to the conservation movement.
