The axis of symmetry of the parabola y = 16x^2 - 16x has to be determined.

For a parabola of the form y - k = a(x - h)^2 the axis of symmetry is x = h.

y = 16x^2 - 16x

=> y = 16(x^2 - x + 1/4) - 4

=> y + 4 = 16*(x - 1/2)^2

The axis of symmetry of the parabola is x = 1/2
