When is it essential to use the systems approach in business?

It is recommended that, since the systems-approach is a key factor in the proper establishment of strategies within a business management model, then it is safe to say that this approach should be used at all times. 

If the systems approach's main theme is that "the whole is of greater value than the sum of its parts", then each part of the business model is equally important, since they all have to work together. 

This includes processes such as:

  • implementation
  • monitoring
  • revisiting
  • goal-setting
  • planning
  • transforming and changing
  • controlling

A mission and vision within an organization is a work in progress that is not supposed to have an expiration nor a due date. It is an ongoing continuous improvement operation that requires imput from everything that affects the business. This includes PR, budgeting, management...everybody is part of the system therefore everybody is part of the process.
