What advice does the king of Salem give Santiago regarding happiness in The Alchemist?

The king of Salem tells Santiago that he needs to follow omens to find the treasure in the pyramids in Egypt.
The boy tells the king of Salem that he has enough sheep. The king says that for one-tenth of the sheep, he will tell him how to find the hidden treasure. The boy is skeptical of the man until he writes things in the sand that only Santiago would know, including some things he does not know.
The man tells him that he has succeeded in finding his personal legend.
It's what you have always wanted to accomplish. Everyone, when they are young, knows what their Personal Legend is. (part 1)
He tells him that the “Soul of the World” is nourished equally by people’s happiness or unhappiness. A person’s only duty is to uncover his Personal Legend. He also tells Santiago that he always appears in some form or another when a person is about to give up on his Personal Legend.
Although people learn their reason for being early in thier lives, they also often give up on it as they grow older.
