The 8th term of the series consisting of the terms 1, 4, 9, 16 ... has to be determined.

Looking at the terms given it can be seen that 1 = 1^2, 4 = 2^2, 9 = 3^2, 16 = 4^2. The nth term of the series is n^2. Using this gives the 8th term of the series as 8^2 = 64

The 8th term of the given series is 64.
