2 pieces of evidence must come from 2 different sections in the book. can be a specific action, decision or belief of Chris McCandless. The full quote by Emrson is, "What I must do is all that concerns me, not what people think. This rule, equally arduous in actual and in intellectual life, may serve for teh whole distinction between greatness and meanness. It is the harder because you will always find those who think they know what is your duty better than you know it. It is easy in the world to live after the world's opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but thte great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude...

One action that fits his quote would be Chris's specific action of finishing college (because that's what his parents wanted of him) and then severing ties with them for good. This was a very calculated action on his part; he fulfilled what he saw as his duty - graduating from college - and would do no more.
Another action that fits this quote would be Chris's reluctance to build a friendship/relationship with Ron Franz. When Ron wants to adopt Chris and be his "family", Chris refuses this offer. This speaks to the latter part of the quote - being in the crowd but seeking solitude. Chris managed to do this during his travels, never letting relationships fully form.
