F.D.R.'s campaign slogan was he had a 'New Deal' for America. The New Deal philosophy was based upon British Economist John Maynard Keynes aggregate demand management...'no jobs, make jobs. It was a very practical approach based upon government action and reform. Two pieces of New Deal legislation regarding job creation and farm recovery were the 'Civil Works Administration' 1933 which employed workers on projects such as building roads, sweeping streets, and creating new infrastructure. 'The Agricultural Adjustment Administration' 1933 was charged with reforming farming purchasing power. For example, creating floor and ceiling prices for produce ensured the farmer a fair profit, another was taking farmland out of production, thus limiting the amount of produce grown which would yeild a higher price for it. (limit supply and demand rises).
