Volume trouble on my new computer! okay so, my older sister took the internet off this...

Volume trouble on my new computer!

 okay so, my older sister took the internet off this computer, and put it on the laptop, and when she put it back into this computer, the volume, to the computer doesn't work!!!, why? anyway to fix it?...thanks

 

More details to clarify

she took of the cable wire from the computer and placed it in the laptop, and then later put the cable back into this computer, and the volume worked before, but after she put the cable back, the volume just stopped working..why?

Okay, let's try this approach. Go to the Control Panel, which should appear on the taskbar. Open Sounds and Audio Devices. Make sure that the box for "show volume on taskbar" is checked and that "mute" is NOT checked. (If your computer has a key to mute the sound, you should check to be sure that key has not been pressed as well.)  As you look at that screen, what level is the volume set on? Can you adjust the volume on the speakers?

Of course, there's always the step most of us try last: we try to read the guide book that comes with the computer. Often that step just frustrates me! Good luck!
