The set of linear equations 3x + 4y = 18, x + 6y = 12 has to be solved.

x + 6y = 12

=> x = 12 - 6y

Substitute for x in 3x + 4y = 18

=> 3(12 - 6y) + 4y = 18

=> 36 - 18y + 4y = 18

=> 14y = 18

=> y = 9/7

x = 12 - 6*(9/7) = 30/7

The solution of the system of equations is x = 30/7 and y = 9/7
