The area of the triangle ABC with vertices A(-4,1),B(-4,2) and C(2,5) has to be determined.

The length of the side AB is 2 - 1 = 1.

The perpendicular distance of (2, 5) from AB is 4 + 2 = 6

This gives the area of the triangle as (1/2)*1*6 = 3

The area of triangle ABC is 3 square units.
