There are all sorts of vampiric legends in many different cultures from many different eras, none of which offer proof of anything beyond a mythological belief. Some have offered more logical explanations that might be at the root of what developed into a belief. Vampires are a myth. As with many myths, they do have some basis in truth. Many cultures have different vampire myths which each originate from a different set of events. Several cultures have vampire myths that surround actual medical conditions. There are some medical conditions where children develop pointed teeth. There are other medical conditions, like porphyria, that were once treated by drinking blood. Of course, today we use blood transfusions and injections. There are many elements of each myth that can be found in reality, however, this doesn't make the entire myth real.
