Addition and (state operation).....are inverse operations
Because they are operations,  (state operation)....is used to check addition and addition is used to check (state operation)..... .

Addition and SUBTRACTION are inverse operations. Because they are operations, SUBTRACTION is used to check addition and addition is used to check SUBTRACTION.

For example

50 + 72 = 122. The inverse operation would be:

122 - 72 = 50 and similarly 122-50 = 72.

Note how the same three numbers are used but subtraction instead of addition is applied .
