By def of  coefficient of restitution say `mu`

`mu=v/u`  v is the velocity after collision and u is velocity before collision.

Thus

`.5= v/3`

`v=1.5ms^(-1)`  in the same direction in which sphere was projected.

Since impulse is defined as rate of change of momentum,therefore

Impulse=`2.0xx10^6xx(1.5-3)`

`=-3.0xx10^6`  N

momentum lost.
