In "Lord of the Flies," is it true that the signal fire goes out beacuse Jack neglets it?
1 Answer | Add Yours
Jack and the hunters neglected the fire. While these boys were to be overseeing the fire, making sure that it continued to burn, they went hunting instead. Jack's determinism to kill the pig consumed him and clouded his judgment. The hunters merely followed out of loyalty, excitement, and ignorance.
