The governor visits the cells one by one in order to gain a 1st hand knowledge of what has gone wrong with the prisoners. First,he visits moaney.Moaney says that he wants to do something or other to keep himself engaged solitary cell.
clipton is the next prisoners to be visited.He complains that never allowed to stir out and so he cannot even see the sun.
o'cleary is the next prisoner.He feels utterly bored with the task of making rush-mats assigned to him.
Finally,he visits falder.Falder talks of his insoluble private problems.
These are all sufferings of the prisoners.
