The system of linear equations consists of the equations: y = 3 and
3x = 8 - 3y

Plotting the two equations gives:

It is seen that the two lines intersect each other at a single point.

The given equations are consistent and independent.

This has a unique solution (x=-1/3, y=3) so the system is consistent and independent.


Remember, inconsistent means there's no solution, and dependent means there are an infinite number of solutions.
