x + y = 2
3x = 8 - 3y

The two equations are:

x + y = 2

3x = 8 - 3y

Drawing a graph of the two:

It is seen that the lines represented by the two equations are parallel to each other.

The system of equations has 0 solutions and is inconsistent.
