This is an interesting question. I suspect you haven't had any answers yet because people are not sure what you are referring to! I am assuming by standardization of clocks you are referring to time-keeping systems that have developed. For example, military and standard time, and daylight savings time. The greatest benefit of standardization of clocks is that people can coordinate events much more efficiently. This is true in organizations today. Often clocks run off a common system, so that every clock in an organization is showing the same time. Even if clocks are only off by a few minutes, it can lead to disorganization and inefficiency.
