At the same moment, two cars leave U and V towards each other. The car from U is moving at speed of 80 km per hour, and the car from V is moving at speed of 120 km per hour. The distance between U and V is 150 km. How long after their departure will they meet?

The distance between U and V is 150 km. A car from U moves towards V at 80 km/h and the car from V moves towards U at 120 km/h. Let the time after which they meet be x.

The total distance moved by the cars in x hours is 150. This gives:

80x + 120 x = 150

=> 200x = 150

=> x = 3/4

The cars meet each other 45 minutes after they leave.
