The inequality `(x - 1)(x + 8) >= 0` has to be solved.

`(x - 1)(x + 8) >= 0` if either

`x -1 >= 0` and `x + 8 >= 0`

=> `x >= 1` and `x >= -8`

=> `x >= 1`

or if `x -1 <= 0` and `x + 8 <= 0`

=> `x <= 1` and `x <= -8`

=> `x <= -8`

The solution of the inequality is `(-oo, -8]U[1, oo)`
