`-x+y=4`

`y=x^2-4x+2`

Replace y with function of x.

`-x+x^2-4x+2 = 4`

`x^2-5x-2 = 0`

This can be solved by the quadratic equation.

`x = (-(-5)+-sqrt((-5)^2-4xx1xx(-2)))/(2xx1)`

`x = (5+-sqrt(33))/2`

`x = (5+sqrt(33))/2 = 5.3723`

`x = (5-sqrt(33))/2 = -0.3723`

So the answers are;

x = 5.3723

x = -0.3723
