St. Thomas seeks to prove God’s existence in five ways. Why is it important to prove God’s existence? What are the proofs which St. Thomas gives? What are the underlying assumptions that St. Thomas makes?

St. Thomas Aquinas was a premier medieval scholar.  It was important to St. Thomas Aquinas to prove God's existence because he was interested in the relationship between faith and reason.  He wanted to determine if God did exist.
