High School Teacher
Act 4, scene 6 reveals that Hamlet knows that someone--presumably Claudius--is trying to kill him. He successfully escapes with the pirates and summons Horatio to meet him. This shows that it is only when his own life is threatened that Hamlet finally decides to act on his father's ghost's quest for revenge. Until this point, he was not threatened, but now, things are personal, and he is ready to act.
