Given:

Total cost of the shirts (C) = 1800

Let the total number of shirts be X.

==> Number of shirts sold = (x-6)

Profit per shirt = 20

total profit = cost of 30 shirts

Required:

Find the cost per shirt (S)

Solution:

Total cost = number of shirt X cost per shirt

1800 = X * S............(1)

Profit = cost of 30 shirt

(shirts sold*cost per shirt) = (cost per shirt * 30)

(x-6)*S = 30s

xs -6s = 30s

==> xS = 36S

==> 1800= 36s

==> s = 50

==> x = 1800/50 = 36

**Then, the cost per shirt is S = 50 **
