This was a decade in which some tremendously important things happened, so there are many possible important facts.  Let us look at a few of the most important facts about this decade.

  • Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany.  His actions once in power were instrumental in leading to WWII.
  • Franklin D.  Roosevelt took office in January of 1933.  His New Deal changed American government forever.  He was also important for his leadership in WWII.
  • This was the decade of the Great Depression.  The Depression ruined economies around the world.
  • Japan became more and more militaristic and aggressive in this decade.  Its invasion of China and other such actions eventually led to WWII in Asia.
