I am writing a research paper on Kerouac's "On the Road" and am wondering how Dean and Sal's relationship with women ago against the 1950's style. I realize they just drop women but Im just trying to find more. ANYTHINGS HELPFUL! THANKS

They refuse any type of relationship conformity. There ideas of marriage completely go against the societal mold; there is no concept of "until death do us part," it is merely a mutual agreement to be together at that very moment.
