Compass needles point north because Earth’s magnetic north pole is located near the geographic North Pole. Either yes or no explain in each case with a solid reason.

No.

Compass needles point north because Earth's magnetic SOUTH pole is located near the geographic North pole. The North pole of magnetic compass needle is attractted to magnetic South pole of Earth because the opposite magnetic poles attract.
