Please proofread my open ended answer!

The question is: What is one of the character traits of Carlson?

I chose to write about his leadership quality.

Clearly, Carlson, a character of John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men, illustrated that he has great leadership qualities. He showed many leadership qualities all the way through the novella. His demonstration for it is by taking lead to kill Candy’s dog. When Candy says he cannot kill the dog, Carlson said, “’ I’ll shoot him for you.’” (45). This way he explained his responsiveness towards the old dog. He took the lead to kill the dog to send it to its heaven. He helped many due to his quality of leadership.

I have made some minor changes in your paragraph. It sounds pretty good to me. You have fulfilled the assignment.

Clearly, Carlson, a character in John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men, illustrates that he has great leadership ability. He shows many examples of leadership all the way through the novella. One memorable demonstration is by his taking the lead in killing Candy’s dog. When Candy says he cannot kill the dog, Carlson says, "I’ll shoot him for you.” (45). This way he reveals his pity for the old dog. He takes the lead to kill the dog to send it to its heaven. He helps many through his exceptional quality of leadership.
