A particle with a charge of 4.0 "mu"C has a mass of 5.0 x 10^-3 kg.  What electric field directed upward will exactly balance the weight of the particle?

You need to use the following equation that helps you to evaluate the balancing force of electric field, such that:

`F = q*E => E = F/q`

Since the problem provides the mass `m = 5*10^(-3)Kg` of particle, you should replace `m*g` for `F` , such that:

`E = (5*10^(-3)Kg*9.8(m/s^2))/(4*10^(-6)C)`

`E = 12.25*10^3 N/C`

Hence, evaluating the directed up electric field, under the given conditions, yields `E = 12.25*10^3 N/C.`
