In pages 36-50, what lies are told to Montag?

Well, since there are a few different versions of the book, I'm not sure on the page numbers, but I'm assuming that you are asking about the lies associated with the history of the firemen. When Montag first meets Clarrisse she asks him "Is it true that long ago firemen put fires out instead of going to start them?" and he responds "No. Houses. have always been fireproof, take my word for it." This later prompts Montag to ask about it at the firehouse.
The other firemen laugh at him and pull out their firemen history books, which say that Benjamin Franklin was the first fireman in 1790.
Beatty tells Montag a lot of other misleading things throughout the book including his view that books confuse people because they present opposing viewpoints.
