Is P.B Shelley an impatient revolutionary poet among the Romantic poets?
1 Answer | Add Yours
P.B.Shelley was one of the Great Romantics who was socially conscious.Inspite of being a passionate individual who was more engaged with his personal feelings than with the world outside,Shelley dreamed of a revolution that would sweep away all social evils and social tyranny and recreate a better society. The symbol of this revolutionary force was the wild West Wind-the' breath of autumn's being'.He was impatient to bring in a change and revolt against tyranny like Prometheus. He was impatient,he was revolutionary, but at the same time he was a lyricist who celebrated his passion which was- "The desire of the moth for the star,of the night for the morrow/The devotion to something afar from the sphere of our sorrow."
