Your question is really good. I'm glad to see you working to get the information that you need to give a correct and full citation.
This site has a very large number of editors. If you specify which article you are talking about, I can give you a more precise answer. For now, though, allow me to point you to a couple of internet sources (see below).
In citing an article, of course, the exact form of the citation depends on what style you are using, such as MLA, APA, or Chicago Manual.
