I think that the first thing to establish is whether this letter is going to be written before, after, or during the course of the events in the play. I think an interesting letter would show some level of depth to Abigail's character because she is fairly complex and intricate in why she does what she does. Her own background of experiencing the loss of her parents at an early age as well as the challenges of living a life without an emotional compass might be included. Perhaps, some type of discussion as to why she loves John might be needed. In terms of the witchhunt that she starts, this might be a very interesting part of her story and one that could be fleshed out in a letter.
