PCP (also known as Phencyclidine) is a drug that has been used to lace marijuana cigarettes since the 1980s. The drug can be addictive, and is very dangerous as it can cause convulsions, coma, and death. It was fairly popular and widespread in the 1980s (it was even mentioned in the Eddie Murphy and Dan Ackroyd tragi-comedy Trading Places), but had fallen out of favor until it appeared again more recently. Its most common name was "angel dust" but it was also known as "fairy dust," "magic dust," "black dust," "goon dust," "happy sticks," "ozone," "superweed" (to refer specifically to marijuana joints/cigarettes laced with it, as well as "illy"), "embalming fluid," and "supergrass."
