Let's say you roll a standard die 500 times. If you calculated the ratio of experimental probability Versus theoretical probabilty for getting sums of 7,8,9,and 10..

Which of the sums do you think would have the closest ratio to 1:1. (Would it be a sum of 7,8 9, 10) Why is ? this. Explain?

Making a list of all possibilities in which one would get a sum of 7,8,9,or 10 is listed.

1, 6 = 7

2, 5 = 7

2, 6 = 8

3, 4 = 7

3, 5 = 8

3, 6 = 9

4, 3 =  7

4, 4 = 8,

4, 5 = 9

4, 6 = 10

5, 2 = 7

5, 3 = 8

5, 4 = 9

5, 5= 10

6, 1 = 7

6, 2 = 8

6, 3 = 9

6, 4 = 10

The totals are:

6 sums of 7

5 sums of 8

4 sums of 9

3 sums of 10

Therefore the closest would be getting a sum of 7 as it occurs most often.
