Nothing much went on in this chapter...but I think the goblins that did live learned a lesson, never try to kidnap a kings daughter, cause if you do, he will come after you. Also the goblins that lived and stayed in the country also became friendly and desided to stop annoying people, they were going to friendly with the miners as well.
From Curdie disrespecting the princess to Curdie being a prisoner and to the fight between the goblins and the kings men-at-arms everything has turned out for the best and it seems like everyone is living happily ever after...exsept the goblins that fled the country of course. =)

I think the princess learned a lesson too. Irene learned to listen to her grandmother, first of all. In a broader, more metaphorical sense, she learned how to act on faith when something cannot be seen.
