I wonder what you mean by "the last religion."  Clearly, it is not the last religion to arise on the face of the earth.  Since the founding of Islam around 1500 years ago, many other religions have come to exist.  So Islam is not the last religion to arise.  If you are asking about whether it is the true religion, that is another discussion altogether.

I think your question pertains to the Islamic position that Muhammad was the last prophet sent from God. Muhammad taught that God had sent previous prophets, including Moses and Jesus, but their message was ignored. Muhammad was the last to bring the "true" religion. I am not sure this indicates that there would be no other religion; but to Muslims, Muhammad's word was the last word from God. Obviously, they consider any other religion to be a false religion, although Christians and Jews are considered to be "people of the Book."

I think it is silly for any one religion to claim to be the last true religion.  You asked what new religions have existed.  One example is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or Mormons.  They are an American-born, relatively new religion.

the other religions that have come about after islam isnt a religion from God.......Christianity and Judaism were both religions that were sent before islam and Muhammad(S.A.W) is mentioned in the previous books that he will come with a religion that will irradicate all other religions .....and this religion will last and have to be followed to the end of time.

So, even if the human race lasts for the next 10 million years and expands across many, many galaxies, and makes contact with millions of advanced civilsations; it is impossible that we will ever find a single book that offers any improvements to the book created by an illiterate, desert sheep-trader from the Dark Ages?

Do you really think that is true?

Just imagine the greatness of the illiterate desert shepherd (The Prophet Mohammad spelled as Mahomet) that his name was included in the fresco: 'Justice, A Hemicycle of Law Givers' placed in the Great Hall of Lincolns Inn (One of the oldest Law Schools of England) by the people who were not his followers.

As far as Quran is concerned, it is the Code of Conduct for the mankind given by the Creator according to the belief of Muslims. I personally do not find anything wrong for a code of conduct to be valid for millions of years or as long as the world exists. Again, it's a matter of belief and anyone is free to accept or reject it.

Let there be no compulsion in religion, the right path has been surely made distinct from the wrong, then whoever disbelieves is a transgressor,

And believes in God, he has, then, a firm handle, no breaking therefor: And God is Hearing, Knowing. (Quran 2:256)

However, there is a warning for the disbelievers from God:

God is patron of those who believe (in Him), He brings them out of darkness into the light,

And those who disbelieve (in Him), their patrons are the transgressors, they bring them out of the light into the darkness. These are companions of the fire; in it they abide. (Quran 2:257)

The choise is entirely left to the people.

In reply to 18:

Muslims consider Jewish and Christians as religions of the same chain starting from Abraham. Muslims do not question Hindus that they are not followers of a religion that was not divine. However the fact remains that none of these religions (Hinduism, Judaism or Christianity) can claim to have the 'original books' as revealed by God and hence none of them can claim to have the religion in the purest form. Islam is the only one which has the book "Quran' in an unaltered form.

The man-made religions are very recent ones like Mormons and Ahmadiyyah that try to relate to Christianity and Islam respectively but the followers of Christianity and Islam know who they are.
