Initial incident for No country for Old Men by Cormac McCarthy

was wondering if you could tell me what the elements of the plot of the initial inceident of the novel "No Country for Old Men" please and thank you

I'm not sure what you mean by "initial incident." The book opens with a soliloquy by Sheriff Ed Tom Bell that reflects on a young man who went (without remorse) to the gas chamber for murder. Basically, the sheriff is reflecting on evil in society. There is an extensive study guide for the book here, including a plot summary, on enotes:

'Extensive' seems a bit of an overstatement
