India is a vast country with different religion, caste & custom . it has thousands of people with different languages , india has 18 official languages . In diversities it has unity . India is the seventh largest country in the world. following are some interesting facts about india..........

The name 'India' is derived from  the river indus , the valleys around which were the home of early settlers. The aryan worshippers referred to the river indus as the sindhu.

chess was invented in india .

the number system was invented by india. Arybhatta was the scientist who invented the digit zero .

algebra , trignometry and calculus are studies which are originated in india.

India has the most post offices in the world.

until 1896 India was the only sourse for diamonds to the world.

It is the most chaotic and confusing country I have ever visitied. I have been to very many places, but nowhere seemed more foriegn and inexplicable than India.

What I think is that it is hard to understand from far away what India must be like.

On the one hand, we hear about how many engineers and doctors and such are produced in India every year.  But then we see information about how there is a Maoist insurgency that the government can't even keep under control in some states.  We hear that India is the world's biggest democracy, but at the same time there is a party (BJP) that is based to a degree on religious hatred.  And we hear that there are honor killings where people kill their relatives for marrying outside their caste.

It seems very contradictory...

I think for knowing india better ,everyone should visit here . If you haven't known in first time then it is your fault so please come once again for knowing india.

I have never been to India. Most of my information comes from research. However I think it is a fascinating country. Many Americans resent it because of outsourcing, but the way I look at it India has found its niche and is finding ways to grow and become more profitable.
