- It makes the children feel equally loved by both parents. It is not that fun for a kid to grow up thinking, for example, that mom cares enough to spend time with them but dad does not. If both parents have equal responsibility, it makes the child feel that both parents care.
- It allows the child to benefit from both parents' strengths. Parents are often strong in different ways. If only one raises the child, the child will miss out on learning from the other parent.
- It makes both parents more involved and strengthens the family overall. If both parents are involved, everyone in the family feels closer to one another. This is good for the children and for the parents.
