How would you go about graphing 8 x 10 inch pictures of graffiti?

This is a project for math.  I have taken pictures of local graffiti and would like to graph parabolas, angles, and circles that are within the picture.  I will be putting it all together in a Powerpoint presentation along with large posters that I will make up of my photos for the class to see.  I may put a grid over top of the poster in order to show the graph and how it correlates with the individual photo that I am graphing.

I have done a similary math project. although i didn't have to present in with a powerpoint.

what i did was use a graphing program called graphmatica (it's free, and very easy to learn) after i finished all making the parabolas, circles, and lines. The good thing about this program or any graphing program is that they save all your equations for you, and they are very accurate.

i saved the file as a pdf or you could just print screen and get the picture that way for your powerpoint.

Oh, also i found that it's much easier to start from the center and then work out, rather than start from the edges of the picture and work in.

I would use Geogebra, another free program, with the advantage that you can import an image as background, and drag your parabolas and lines all over the place wherever you want them, with the equations updating automatically.

You would need to restrict the domains of your functions to avoid cluttering up the screen, so here's how you do that: http://wiki.geogebra.org/en/Tips:Restricted_Functions
