Radar is still used in the military, however since the end of World War II radar has found its way into the lives of just about every American. Meteorologists use radar to track the weather conditions throughout the United States. The Doppler Radar system monitors severe weather systems such as hurricanes. These systems are responsible for their accurate warnings which have served to save many lives.

NASA used radar systems in the land rover vechicles on the moon and Mars to map their surfaces.

Archaeologists in Egypt, especially in the Valley of the Kings used radar technology to map the undeerground necropolis. (The Thebean Mapping Project)

Lastly, radar is also used today to monitor traffic lights. The speed-guns used by law enforcement to control speeding use radar technology.
