The water footprint is the amount of water used by people as individuals per year. I was not able to find categories, such as brushing teeth, but I did find some numbers available on personal water consumption per year. The United States leads the way, with a person consuming 2480 cubic meters of water per year. China was the smallest consumer, coming in at 700 cubic meters per year. The global average was 1240 cubic meters per year.
Some factors that would affect the amount of water used per person when they are brushing their teeth would be whether they kept the water running while they brushed, the number of times they rinsed, and whether they used cold water, hot water, or a combination of the two. The number of brush strokes could also be a direct influence on the amount of water consumed during brushing, resulting in more water for more brush strokes, less water for less brush strokes.
