The bacteria in a culture grows according to the model ``N=6582.8(1.1769)^t` `, where t is time in hours. How many bacteria will be observed after 9 hours?

Since you are given the model for the number of bacteria, N, present in the culture and know that the amount of time, t, of interest is 9 hours, substitute 9 into the model for t and calculate:

`N=6582.8(1.1769)^9=28514.563...`

Therefore, the answer is D) 28,514 bacteria.
