Jim and della were deeply in love with each other. So without much thought they foolishly sacrificed their precious possessions in order to buy worthy christmas gifts for each other. But they were more wise than they were foolish because wise people can make great sacrifices in the name of love. They have sacrificed their possessions to enhance each others possession and see each other glad. This shows the profound love they had for each other .They were the magi, the wisest .
