If you do not have enough self-esteem, it is very difficult to reach your goals. The problem is that you generally need to be confident in order to achieve anything.
However, too much self-esteem can be pretty damaging as well. It can ruin personal relationships and work performance by making a person arrogant.
A positive sense of self eesteem helps you to be more confident. When you have confidence, people will gravitate and listen to you. It is important to have self belief because if you do not believe in yourself, that does not inspire confidence in others.
Self esteem is critical because it accounts for so much of our behavior. Not just in the good things we do, but think about all of the negative things people do because of low self esteem.
Sometimes, self-esteem is what keeps us going even when everything around us is falling apart. When you know that you have intrinsic value...when you know that you are worthwhile/important...sometimes you can push yourself to succeed even when people or events seem stacked against you. It's hard to stand up for yourself when communicating with other people if you don't think you have much value.
Self-esteem is vital in being confident enough to have the courage to communicate with people, especially those of authority or we do not know well. It is self-esteem that also allows us to set goals and work towards achieving those goals.
Self-respect is as important as respect for the people with whom the individual lives in society. Respect yourself the moral standards that each individual must comply.
Self respect and self confidence are crucial. We project our level of confidence, or our lack of it, and that is instantly perceived by those we interact with. It also gives us the ability to pursue goals we otherwise wouldn't, if we didn't believe ourselves capable or worthy.
Self esteem is very important and really determines self worth. It is also reflected in day to day behavior. A person who lacks self esteem is less likely to pursue goals and interact with others. It is very healthy to have a positive feeling about yourself.
